Description:
- Engineer diesel hydraulic construction equipment using Pro-E.
- Manage product development projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage projects using well-established processes
- Provide good engineering- innovation, functionality, cost control, manufacturability, life, safety, appearance, commonality, inventory control.
- Provide good productivity – quality of projects, speed of projects, time, and accountability
- Provide accurate information – correctness, consistent format, completeness
- Project a positive attitude and support the companies objectives and priorities
- Comply with the written standards, procedures, and processes of the organization
- Coordinate project team efforts and design decisions
- Organize product design efforts in the CAD model with an efficient use of time and resources
- Be the chief manager/creator of the CAD model and personally oversee the packaging of the design. Packaging, in this context, is the physical relationship of all the mating assemblies into the top assembly, including hoses and wiring. The package should be optimized for the manufacturability, service, operation, and visibility for the operator, functionality, safety, and appearance.
- Understand the abilities and limitations of our manufacturing system
- Seek out purchased components that satisfy the requirements, are competitively priced and have lead times that allow for the lowest inventory. Avoid single source components where applicable.
- Recognize when product stress analysis is necessary and oversee/perform required testing
- Ensure that the BOM’s are accurate and in synch with product requirements
- Oversee the drafting of the project and ensure that the dimensioning is consistent with the design intent. Ensure that the dimensions are shown from surfaces that actually matter.
- Personally assist with the drafting if necessary to the keep project moving
- Provide engineering support for all products, as required
- Perform revisions to existing products, as required
- Assist in solving manufacturing problems, as needed
- Provide support to sales, as needed
- Be guided by the Mission of the company in all of your decisions and understand that the price that the end-user pays for your designs must market competitive, as well as provide sufficient profit to the company
Requirements:
- Minimum four year degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum five years of applicable experience
- Knowledge and use of CAD
