West Salem, Ohio –American Augers is excited to announce the redesign of the 48/54-900 NG auger boring machine, which offers the competitive auger boring marketplace the most maximum horsepower, torque, and speed for this class of machine.

Customers can expect jobsite success, as the 48/54-900 NG is now available with a 174 HP (143 kW) DEUTZ TCD9014LD air cooled diesel engine, which provides the customer a 50% increase in overall horsepower than was found in the previous version. The maximum torque and speed have also been increased to 119,095 ft lb (161,471 Nm) at 8 RPM.

The 48/54-900 NG still offers the highly productive rack and pinion system, Quik Tran, which is the is the fast return system, made available exclusively from American Augers, as it provides up to 10,000 lbs of push/pull at high speed, and there will be no dogging or winching during retract, as the Quik Tran system engages directly to the machine track. Quik Tran’s additional benefit will be easier machine operation in challenging work climates or conditions!

Operators will still enjoy the working range of 12 to 54 inch (305 to 1372 mm) casing diameter, increased ability to pull auger, steering rods, and push product, increased visibility to the master pusher, low centerline and wide stance that provides substantial machine stability, hydraulically assisted clutch with a dry-power assisted actuator that is easier and more comfortable to operate, ergonomically designed operating controls that allows for improved feathering of the rotation and slow turn of the shaft for easy auger installation, updated gauge system that includes the improved engine tachometer, engine warning light, & hydraulic thrust pressure reading, as well as all of the other factory direct support and innovative amenities that American Augers provides to its equipment.
